Thank you to MKO North

In early 2023, Manitoba Keewatinowi Okimakanak Inc. (MKO), donated six 43” Smart TVs, a 65” UHD TV and an Oculus Gaming System to our Youth Resource Centre (YRC) in Thompson!

It was a very exciting day for the youth and everyone present!

MKO’s donations will definitely bring joy to the youth who come to the YRC and we’re 100% sure the Oculus will be very popular.

Billie-Jo Thompson, Supervisor of the StreetReach North program, gave Grand Chief Garrison Settee, with his Assistant Kevin Carlson and MKO Urban Initiative Manager Shyanna Lynxleg, a tour of the YRC.

The Link’s Youth Resource Centre in Thompson has four beds and operates 24/7 to provide a safe place for youth to stay for up to 72 hours, including access to food, clothing, emergency supports and medical assistance, as well as recreational, cultural, and spiritual activities with a focus on mental wellness.

MKO is a nonprofit organization that works with and advocated for Northern First nations in Manitoba and strives to assist in building an urban community where youth are embraced and feel safe, enabling them to thrive.
