The Work Experience Case Manager will tailor services and supports to assist youth participants facing barriers to employment, develop skills and gain the confidence and experience they need to successfully transition to the workforce. This position is responsible for providing pre-employment training opportunities designed to meet participants’ unique needs and enhance their employability.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES: of The Work Experience Case manager include, but are not limited to:
- Interview applicants to assess suitability for program
- Intake all new participants utilizing assessment and screening tools to identify strengths and needs
- Assessing participants initially and collaborate with participant to develop individualized Personal Development Plan (PDP) including goals to boost workplace literacy
- Ensure mental health and cultural needs are met by facilitating referrals to enhanced support services
- Review PDPs weekly with participants
- Assist participants to explore various career options that meet their needs
- Meet weekly with participants to provide progress report
- Support and assist participants with any issues that arise
- Develop and review/update program employability curriculum
- Schedule guest speakers and external workshops
- Schedule weekly electives and workshops for participants
- Coordinate employment placements for all participants
- Provide financial oversight for payment to participants
- Deliver/facilitate training/workshops that are focused on enhancing workplace literacy and skill development
- Develop positive relationships with community partners and work placements
